World Book Day & Books at Bedtime

5th March 2020

It was amazing to see the thought and effort that had been put into the costumes for World Book Day, by both the children and the staff.  As well and a fun assembly in the morning to show off the costumes and choose the competition winners the children also did a range of activities to enjoy the children to develop their love of books.  The children also enjoyed some 'pant' biscuits at lunchtime to fit into the 'Aliens Love Underpants'  theme.

As part of the World Book Day celebrations the children were invited back after school to join in a Books at Bedtime session.  The children enjoyed books and stories with their class teacher, as well as having the chance to warm up with a hot chocolate and a biscuit.  Each class also had a variety of activities related to the books that they shared, it was lovely to have a nice calm, relaxed end to a busy day.  We would like to thank Friends of Woodfield for agreeing to pay for the drinks and biscuits from the fund raising that they did before Christmas.
